Ok long story short, the egr tube on my 1994 sc has been replaced. But....it has been hacked and half @**ed to the point that it dose not function with the sensors as it should. The secondary EGR tubes are not completely sealed to the main EGR tube, and are not ported into the main EGR tube. I know i need to resolve those problems, my question is this. There is supposed to be a metering orifice in the main EGR tube, in the event i have to fabricate one what size is the hole in the metering orifice?

Any insight, help, or suggestions are a huge help.
Thank you all!!!

I would imagine no bigger than the primary metering tube, otherwise you wouldnt get a pressure drop across the DPFE sensor.

Ok, i just did not want to potentially make the metering orifice hole too small and cause a whole different set of issue's.

Thank you for your help.

According to the ford tech manual i have the diagram shows a metering orifice in between the two secondary tubes in the main EGR tube. And i am trying to fix the slew of issues i bought the car with, but dont want to cause more problems by just jumping into it.

Never noticed a metering orifice - just figured thats y the 2 tubes were different sizes.
There needs to be a metering orifice to create a pressure differential for the DPFE sensor to notice a pressure drop during EGR flow, the restriction creates a lower pressure area on the downstream side of the tube.

There is a crimp between the two tubes where the orifice insert is placed in the EGR main tube - its not welded together or anything so it may not be very noticeable.

Hey, I have an old 94/95 EGR tube laying here. Just pay shipping and you can cut it up and look at the size of the hole, if you want.

Its still good ?? Why cut it up, to fix a broken one, just replace it with a good one.

What would be the shipping costs to 60505? And is it good and for an SC? This is a project myself and gear head are working on together. So as far as my questions, I can speak for him on this.
