Ok here's my question. Since the Explorer PI motor is the preferrred motor for a complete engine swap due to the weight savings is there any value in using one of these blocks in an engine build? The teksid blocks have some modifications that are required to use them and are limited in number so what about an aluminum block from an Explorer motor?

Yes, there are advantages to using the WAP block. For most people, either the teksid or WAP blocks are pretty equal. The teksid is a little bit stronger, and the WAP is a little bit lighter, but both are plenty strong for any street car, and the weight difference is less than 5lbs, so whichever one you can get cheaper/easier, go for it.
