Hey, I'm glad things worked out. That's weird how that happened ... I wouldn't have suggested that exactly. But, hey, cool!

Also, I'm just curious ... Which cover do you mean? Is there a plastic cover over the 96 TB? I have an 89, so there are definitely some differences.

yea there is a squarish plastic cover on the 96 model it has two holes on each side that fit over some bolts that stick out of the throttle body to hold it in place, but one of the holes on one side of mine is broke, thats why it came loose..but no need to worry now i taped it down so now it wont come off..yea i guess yours didnt come with this or someone took it off..thanks for your reply though..if youd like to view the car check out the pic forum its the black t-bird...I think its listed under "my bird"..peace cya

i have had the same prob but mine was due to a throttle grommet that decided to eat itself. engine revved to like 3800+ and would not stopp for anything. oh well i was just glad it was a cheap part..
