a slight problem that happens to me that bothers me once in a while. this doesnt happen all the time, and i have no idea why. well, lets say im doing 40mph and i need to accelerate, i push down the pedal a little bit, just so i get it to get moving, maybe enought to get it to downshift, but once in a while, the car shakes, or hesitates kinda, like its not getting enough gas or something, thats what i think it is but i might be wrong. i did get new wires, plugs, coil packs...so its not those...i have cleaned the MAF(like 2 months ago, might need to do that again), and i have changed the fuel filter...what do u guys think is the problem...i throw 89 octane on it...

i dunno, but i had the same problem in my crown vic winter beater. replaced plugs and wires and it seemed to stop for awhile. that is until i lost 3rd and 4th gear about 2 weeks later. not sure if the two were related or not...

OK to kinda put myself on the "plank" ... im going to give my opinion ...

Are you sure its a miss? does it throw a code. might try to search the tranny fourums. I had/have a problem with my 87' crown vic with 210,000 original hard miles on engine/tranny .... the torgue convertor is wore to he11. When i lightly try to accel, the tranny wont downshift right away and will kinda act as if i was in a standard taking off in 3rd, the bogging down type symptoms. Maybe tq is not allowing to downshift or come from tq lockup. I would floor the old vic and wouldnt miss a beat. Did j-mod yet? last fluid change?

Which kinda sounded like tysons probs

Hmm... been doing some more thinking ... mine has been doing similar probs. everytime i think about trying it, the prob wont surface .... but i havent changed my fluid in about 15k miles ... i have 100k on it. Maybe my/our torque convertor starting to wear.

Out of my 2 yrs of doing driveability at the dealership... ive changed one throttle position sensor and it was on a late model straight six 300 ... guy i did alot of work with, 20yr veteran, says that the new tps very seldom go out ... did i say very. But is very easy to test if you know someone that do it on their lunch break ... koeo at idle should read approx. 1v and gradually climb to approx. 5v.

only other sensor that i would think of is the MLPS but it causes other probs .. such as improper shifting into neutral or up and downshifting probs.
