Dumb Question, I borrowed an engine stand from my friend, and when I tried to bold the 4.6L block to it (using the bellhousing holes in the block) the "fingers" don't reach the holes I need them to. Do I need a plate, or is the stand missing longer "fingers". Thanks.

P.S. Just remeber, Mr. Garrison says "There are no stupid questions, only stupid people."

Depends on the stand. When I did mine, I had to turn the "finger plate" upside down. Then it would reach all the holes. The 2 bottom ones on the engine are really far apart. My stand had 2 slots that were angled and two that were horizontal. The angled ones had to be at the bottom and the "finger bars" extended to the max in order to reach.

I agree about the stand.

My stands have 4 slotted "arms" that can be adjusted in multiple angles and lengths. Kind of flops around until everything is tightened. :D
