So I am driving this Escort while the Bird is down for the engine swap. I am driving back to Sioux City from Lincoln through Omaha so I can pick up a couple parts at a yard there. We were planning on dropping the engine in tonight, but when I go to leave after getting the Mark parts, the freaking POS Escort won't start. The fuel pump went out. The worst part is, we have only owned the car for the last 20,000 miles of its life and this is the second fuel pump it has needed. And man does it pick fine times to break. Also broke a timing belt once in Omaha.

Started taking pictures of the engine swap though, the motor is lowered into the car kind of right now although not attached to anything yet because we were too tired to think about the right way to do things and didn't want to do anything we would regret having done tomorrow.

I have one too

Even though I have two birds, I have two people to drive them so when I need to do work to one I use the POS. The thing is a tank, it takes 15 minutes to get to 60 and I used to have to start it with a baseball bat. I fixed it up good so now all it really needs is a tranny overhaul and new rings and valve seals since its burning oil. Escorts are good for going to home depot or a car shop and getting the parts that you don't want in your nice cars :)

This one is actually a good running, good shifting, nice little car. its had a rough life but still sound for the most part, just has an appetite for fuel pumps apparently.
