Last week I installed the Force II's on my 97. I'm having a problem with the pipe hitting that removable crossmember and it causes an annoying rattle. I tried to shim it with a number of items like an exhaust rubber but it melted. i also wedged a used rear brake pad in but now the whole car vibrates.
How important is that crossmember? Can I leave it off? or even bend it? Any help ? Thanks again...Chris

Doesn't that affect rigidity?

Chris, I had this problem too when I drove the car in and out of a barn it was winter stored in, it would scrape a ledge getting up the embankment.

I simply got out a pry bar each spring and reefed on it a bit forcing it down from the crossmember.

It probably gets really bad when you're accelerating (engine twisting sideways)?
