OK, I know that the pipe from the resonator to the differential is 2.25, the tail pipes after the y by the differential are 2",but sre these measurements for the Outer Diameter or Inner Diameter of the pipes? Thanks in advance.
That's what I'm working on, as I agree. Just wanted to see what the dimensions were. My father in law has access to a welderand tube bender sometimes, and I may try to design something. Thanks for the info!
Best exhaust is either a single 3" then a split or duals. Most do duals because of the sound.
Remove the 3rd cat and resonator if you can, that will help.
Grab whatever mufflers you want, some like flowmaster, some don't. Too much resonance in the flos for me. Alot of us are big Dynomax fans, they are quiet under cruising, but loud under throttle, and no resonace around 1800-2000.
Thanks for the tips. I think I will at least remove the resonator and 3rd cat for now, and see what that does, then go from there. I will most likely go with the duals, and some dynomax muffs at the end, or just run straight pipe, as my county does not require the emissions test
I first had a Dynomax Catback system on BLCKBRD........waaaaayyyy
to quiet, barely different than oem, slightly deeper at idle.....maybe.
My current 2.5" system with high flow cats, X-pipe, and Magnaflows
sounds deeper than I would have expected.....great tone.....and
definitely louder than the Dynomax system, without getting into a
Flowmaster or straight pipe decibel range.....
Borlas are also a good performing, quiet (but not too quiet) muffler.
If you go with 2.25" duals and/or 3" single, you won't lose much if any low end when otherwise stock, and open it up enough to run low 14s without trouble (it won't hold you back).
Okay, so this spring the bird's getting a built 2004 trans and 3,500 stall 10" TC from Alan, with the expectation that next winter will bring ported heads and cams. I've done some looking around and I'm thinking about going with Nick's stage 2 PI head and stage 2P cams combo, with the modified...
I'm trying to drain the coolant to change temperature sensor, sender and thermostat. I have unscrewed the petcock almost an inch and only getting drops of coolant. It won't unscrew anymore. Any suggestions?
Okay, so two years ago I got the P1443 and replaced all the evap hoses with fuel line and both electrical parts. I should say, all but one hose, the one closest to the fuel tank. I was pretty sure I could get that one off, but not sure at all I could get a new hose on there because it looked...
Hey guys, it has been quite a while but it's good to be back!
I am in need of some guidance regarding a recent engine swap in my 97 bird.
The back story:
It has been quite a while since I have posted, mostly due to the fact that my motor exploded roughly 6 years ago. Since then the car has...
I've got an issue I've been working on on the Tbird for the entire time I've had the car; and I know it's a wiring issue somewhere.
I've swapped a bunch of stuff, but can't find it.
I have all the drawings, datalogging, electronic skills, everything I should need.
The problem is it runs rough...
