Hey all. I decided to remove the failing side trim on the car to allow me to put my numbers on. Not that it matters a lot but I have a residue that my 3M trim adhesive removal wheel doesn't seem to remove. I removed all of the rest of the adhesive but this seems to be the residue that built up around the edges from it sitting outside so long. I've attached a pic. I've tried to use acetone and Duplicolor Wax and Adhesive remover but neither really seems to do anything to it either. Thoughts?

You sure its residue ?? If Acetone doesn't do the trick, it might be in the paint itself. Hard to tell from the picture .. but when I removed my trim I had some pitting left behind.

Technically it wasn't behind the trim. It was around the edges outside the trim. It definitely could be that though.
