After years of doing things my own way, tweaking prodding, modding and basic tunes, and just flat running the piss out of the car I finally got a "J tune" by the man himself on a dyno.

Although I never had the old motor set-up dynoed. I know it made good power. But at least I can say that "Da Man" did a wonderful job and as usual with all his tuning got things sorted on the 1MTNCAT.

I also want to thank Amazon Racing for the dyno shop use. Rick and Linn have a wonderful place, are quite the professionals and are great to work with . My hats off to EECDOC performance as well for the all the help on the initial Install, and the debugging after the install in my car etc. I also want to thank Mike V, whose "Christine Heart of gold" now resides in place of my well thrashed stocker. Its been in the car since May and I've been baselining till I got the motor tuned on my set-up. I know he was one proud papa!

This is one Mean *** stock PI powered kitty for sure whether NA or on the Bottle. The dyno sheets will be posted. This was done on a Mustang dyno at Amazon Racing. :)

Lookn Good

Is that a stock 96-98 short block? Just wondering if it was a PI swap which would raise compression.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks Everyone for your kind responses!

To answer questons,

AEDM8, As I've always truthfully stated on this board and is factual with plenty of folks that have seen it, I run a ZEX dry shot system and It sprays right at WOT off the line. The system works off the voltage at the TPS. WOT and its spraying. Always has and always will. No window switches or worrying bout fuel puddling and blowing intakes/airtubes and chit up. That pull was made with the 125 HP setting on the system and on pump gas. That is the first time since the install I have run that shot on the motor due to the tune not being completed.

Austin Cougar, as you all know out in the land of the star state, this IS the original "BULLITTBIRD 4.6 engine", Lock-stock and barrel. It is in fact a stock 96 shortblock, topped by stock PI heads and Stock PI cams, Bullitt Intake & TB and JBA headers. NOTHING in/on the motor has been touched. It still breathes through a factory style Flowmaster cat back exhaust but does not have the catalysts in it. It is a 10.1 motor instead of the factory 9.1 due to the head swap.

Dave, that statement is correct about the torque. Its a little different on a wet system and generally they do make a tad more power up high. Now you know what you are in for LOL!! And the number was a difference of 187 Lbs feet of torque between the two pulls.

503 RWTQ on a Mustang Dyno?

Congrats man those are really good numbers. 346 RWHP & 503 RWTQ sounds like a high 11 second pass to me!

Mark,

When "Da Man" got out of the ride after the bottle pass to let me know how things were on it he, stated that the Fuel curve looked great and smooth the whole way. Right around 11.9- 12.0 I believe is what he said. If I'm wrong on this he'll have to correct me. He was paying more attention to it actually than I was. I was just steadily watching the torque curve and HP numbers lite up.

A-Train, thanks for the congrats pal. I guess you are happy too that I finally got her on the rollers and with "A Tune". I mean you've been ragging on me now for how long about that. LOL!!! As for the 11's, there is no doubt it will do it. Just a matter of traction and the variables. The question is with those things, how low will it go!!

I have seen some a/f from my buddys mustang with a Zex kit and they are smooth. He did some research and the solenoid they use is made by NOS and can flow allot more than than the kits advertise. Don't get gready and you should be fine. I would run some race gas for insurance. Hell you may pull the wheels with 500 ftlbs of trq:)

Hopefully you will get some time out of it.

I put about 60 bottles through my car before I fu'ed it up.

My problem was I was running a 125 dry shot with everything stock, with stock plugs, to a chip with advandce timming, stock fuel system.

The only thing that happeng to the motor was I melted spark plugs 1,4,5,and 8. I melted them down to the porcelain. Also I burned up intake valves on those same cylinders, so it was at aloss for compression.

But other than that, the rest of the motor was perfectly fine!!!

Godd luck with it, just make sure you got it setup right.

As for 11's, hope your runnin a hellof a stall and maybe some slicks!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks again.

A-bill, Had I known you were that close, I'd a given you a call. You could have hung around while we were there.

Big-Al, All I can say is the car is what it is! Joel put it best when he said after one meet with the old motor, "It looked like it got hit in the *** by a trash truck when it left the line", 1.63 60 ft. LOL!!! Traction will be the ticket. I expect low 1.5's or better IF I can hook it.

Badbird95- I have all my systems upgraded to handle that thing other than of course the previously stated stock motor. I ran the same shot and various other smaller ones on the stocker for 5 years with no problems and it was still running strong when I pulled her out. Its still at EECDOC's as a matter of fact still together awaiting yet another adventure.;)

Bad93bird- The point you make is a good one. But I also know that can happen at anytime, even with less power. A couple weeks after the install on the small shot it lunched the built 4R70W. I don't want them too but I do know that beakage is part of the game. I just hope its not a common occurence. Thats another reason why its not a stick shift car. Then you ASK for trouble.

Nice Meeting you Steve. We enjoyed having you guys up there. Looks like NOS is the way to go if you want the torque. We need some bigger trunk monkeys for mike's car though. lol Hope to see you at Bowling Green.
