I took the T-Bird to Milan last night in spite of the cold weather and threat of rain. Traction was a problem, but the three runs I was able to make without wheelspin were all good:
  • 12.051 @ 113.6 with 1.72 60'
  • 11.999 @ 113.4 with 1.68 60'
  • 12.075 @ 113.0 with 1.68 60'
After these three runs I gave the car a long cooldown to see if I could back-up the 11.99, but traction continued to deteriorate and the best I could do was 12.2-12.3 with 60's in the 1.8s. So, with traction and good air the car is now a solid 12.0 performer, and I can truthfully say it has run an 11 second quarter.

Changes since the car ran the 12.43 last year are: 2.7" pulley (showing 12.5 psi last night), 4" diameter air intake system, boost-a-spark, dual water/meth nozzles (12 and 6 gph), 295/50-16 MT ET Street Radials, M&H skinnies on 16"x4" aluminum spare wheels, removed the dual amps and subwoofer, and relocated the battery to the trunk. The car weighs about 3670 lbs ready to race, about 3850 with me aboard.
