I am wanting to put a set of either 15 or 16" chrome American Racing Torque Thrust wheels on my 97 but I can't find the proper bolt pattern for our cars. Is it not available in this size and if not, can you custom order a set or would it be cheaper to just switch everything over to Mustang stuff? Also, when ordering wider wheels how do you adjust the offset? For example, if the wheel is one inch wider should the entire inch be added to the backspacing or split 50/50 or what? Just kind of curious about that. I don't want to put on a set of wheels that makes my car look like one of those little escorts with the wheel stuck completely outside the fender.

American Racing does custom offsets on some of their wheels, including the Torque-Thrusts, but I don't think that they will do custom bolt patterns. There might not be enough room between the spokes to go with a smaller bolt pattern than the Mustang 5 on 4-1/2" ...

http://www.patmedia.net/fraleigh/Article.html will give you info on changing over your bolt pattern.

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/offset.htm will help to explain wheel offset. Assuming that you get 7" wide wheels, you will want to get in the neighbourhood of +35 to +40 offset. American Racing isn't going to have what you need off the shelf, unless you go up to 17". Even their custom offset program doesn't offer anything with enough backspacing in 15" or 16" in that wheel style.
