what does the xxx mean in the lifter valley?
my 91 cougar 5.0 has xxx
i also have a 88 ford 5.0 block with nothing in the lifter valley

I don't know what it means. I was told that it's a stronger block made with slightly different materials.

and then a 90s ford truck block with no 3 letter code
butt they are all roller cam blocks

my current block is a porno block (XXX)...did alot of reading on this on the corral and other websites...supposedly just a different casting mark, nothing different in terms of the block.

I think I read it is the generation of the block. All XXX are roller lifter, damn I can't find the book, got it some where.
