I went to Pull-A-Part in charlotte this past weekend and I found a black 89 XR7 5-speed in the lot. The engine was gone, but the trans and all things associated with it (pedals, master cylinder, center console, handbrake, driveshaft, etc.) were still there. I made a post about it and MN12xr7 and dode were interested in some of the parts, but I am heading back up to NJ for a week on friday, and I won't be able to get down there to pick up the parts to sell them. So, if anyone in the charlotte area wants to make some money, or is in need of 5speed parts themselves, better someone on here gets their hands on it than someone who doesn't know what it is. The junkyard is Pull-A-Part at 6024 N. Tryon Street, Charlotte. The phone # there is 704-596-6800. I don't know how much they will want for everything, but I know the trans itself will only cost you $50. When I was down there, I grabbed the instrument cluster and the center console out of the car, but that was all I had the time or money for. If anyone decides to go get the 5speed parts, let me know and I will sell you the 5-speed center console for $10 (just to cover what I paid for it) so you would be able to sell the entire package.

If it is still there when I get back, I will be able to get them for you, but I won't be able to get down there this weekend like I thought I would because I have to go back to NJ for at least a few days. A couple of weeks ago I blew the motor in my 5.0 and the trans is going out in the 4.6 and I need to get something on the road so that I can get back and forth to school and my girlfriend can get back and forth to work while we swap a t-45 into my 94. I posted this here in hopes that someone in the charlotte area would be able to go down there and get the parts and then you could work something out with them, which is why I included your user name. When I get back, first thing I will do is go down there and check it out, and if the parts are still there, then I will get them and we can work something out. Sorry for saying I could get them for you and then backing out.

I will be bringing back the seats. I'll let you know as soon as I get back. Should be thursday/friday the way things are looking right now. Just have to swap a rear in a crown-vic then register it and then I'll be on my way back down.

Oxinyourbox; I have the seats and I am back in NC. Tried sending you a PM, but your box is full. Let me know when you want to get together for them. I will be heading down to that junkyard in charlotte tomorrow so maybe if you give me directions I can bring them to you. Give me a call and we can work something out. My cell phone # is 732-757-1590. Thanks.

Sorry about that Mike. Forgot to clean out sent PM's. :)

I'm sol for anything tomorrow but can head up to Mooresville sometime no biggie. Let me figure out my Sunday schedule and I'll let you know.

How are they condition wise and did you manage to get front and back down?

I did get both front and back down. Since I blew the motor in my 5.0 I'm driving a crown-vic now, so it has tons of trunk and back seat space. The seats aren't too bad. There is wear on the side bolsters and a couple little rips in the perforated section of the front seat bottoms. When looking at it in the light, it looked like the driver's seat might have been black at one time and was dyed to blue. The back seat bottom is in almost perfect shape except for one small hole, looks like it might be a cigarette burn. The rear seat back has some sun fading on the top part of it, but other than that they are in nice shape. To get the seats down I had to take the front seat bottoms apart from the tops, so you will have to put those back together and get some vacuum hose to reconnect one of the two lines for the lumbar/side bolsters. My address is 175 Carraige Club Dr. Apt 10-301, Mooresville 28117 if you want to mapquest directions. Just let me know when you are going to come up. Thanks.
