I am using a manual rack & pinion on my Tbird. (There is no room for a ps pump, and wanted to get as much weight off the front as possible.) I am using 275/40/17 rears and 255/45/17 fronts om 17x9 Cobra R replicas now. It is fine for me, but my wife wants to drive it, and no way can she turn it.

I am looking for (2) 17x7 wheels that Ford made years ago,M-1007-E177, that were only made in limited amounts and discontinued years ago.

Another option would be some nice new wheels that come in both 17x9 or 17x10, and also in 17x6 or 7. This would allow some 225/?/17 front tires on it, and make turning it easy enough that my wife can drive it.

Anyone have any ideas?

The Thunderbird SVT wheels pop up on eBay from time to time, but usually sets of 4 of course. A set went recently for about $500 I think.

Other than that, there would be more options in 5 on 4.5" to get the sizes that you're after. But you probably already figured that out!

cheers

Have you priced out just having your wheels narrowed?

392. I'd have to verify but I believe I have a full set of the 17x7's you are looking for. (fairly sure I saw the ford stamp on the back of the wheels when I redid them.)

They are painted "gunmetal" right now but it was done on a humid day and need to be redone. (waiting on the weather.)

Any interest on a swap for 2 of the 17x9's? i got the wheels with 245/45/17 on it and man do they feel squirrely.
