Anyone else have to replace the fuel line from the tank to the fuel filter because the line had a hole rubbed into it by contact with the body or tank?

I was leaking fuel bad and a new line from the stealership was $150. My mechanic went to the bone yard to find one. It took him several birds, but he found one on an older model bird. The 96s and 97s had the same problem and the one SC in the yard had a different line.

I did a search here and no hits. Is there an FSB?

Just talked to the mechanic. He said the floor of the car.

He test fit the salvaged line and it had a inch and a half of space to the floor where the original one did not.

yep, just replaced it last week. I think my mechanic put 1/4" steel line inside the plastic where it rubbed through and then covered it all with the rubber fuel injector hose and clamped it. So far, so good...
