I am in the process of installing the ZEX dry kit, my question is what fuel pump works well and is it a direct replacement. I am using 30Lb injectors. Im looking someware in the 255lph pump but I dont want to run into problems with it on the install. I have heard that some pumps take some fabricating to install. I have also heard that a stock SC pump and sending unit are usable. Thanks alot im looking forward to some good answers.

I installed the 255lph pump. It was very pretty easy on the install part. No fabrication, but it took a long time because of what is involved. Meaning removing exhaust, then removing the gas tank. Check out MN12performance for the pump and for great instructions on the install. When you are doing it make sure to take your time.

Some information

A 240-255 pump will be more than enough but better to have more than less. An adjustable regulator will hellp also.

I dont understand why you'd be putting 30# injectors in a basically stock motor but thats your thing at least according to your sig. Just remember, the ZEX is set-up for 19# injectors so you may need a tune after the install to get things correct ratio wise with the fuel.

Good luck with the install!! :)

I'm putting in my Zex kit in the next couple of minutes. I don't need to mess with my fuel injectors right? Even if I end up going to a 125 shot, I need to upgrade my fuel pump, but do I need to upgrade my injectors?

Thanks for the advice on the pump Im not too worried about the exhaust since I just had it done custom in three peices so it will come off like a dream lol.
I was told by the guy who is tuning it that I should use #24-#30 injectors. I have another question as well, should I go with the Zex Purge kit?? and does anyone know were i can find a good deal on one.

i got a nos purge kit. it was like $25 cheaper than the zex purge kit on summit when i was placing my order and in my opinion a purge kit is a purge kit. they all do the same thing so i couldnt justify spending the extra $25.

cool, did you upgrade you injectors as well ? I was told with the dry kit you should upgrade them because of the way it draws fuel.

I'll repeat again.

You "DO NOT" have to increase injector size. If you contact ZEX they will tell you that the systems are set up for the STOCK injector sizes and since you likely are using the Mustang Kit, its set up for 19# injectors. The fuel is added by increasing pressure at the regulator which in turn increases fuel at the injector.

The person telling you that you must change injectors is full of it. Call ZEX!! I'm not saying you can't or shouldn't use larger injector but that is not what the system is set up for period. You will need to do some tuning otherwise for larger injectors to have them close.

With a basically stock Engine set-up you dont need anywhere near 30 # injectors.

Hope this clarifies things for you. :)

So you understand!

I'm not being hard to deal with but I ran 19's on my stock set-up with the 125 shot for years and had 80MM meter, 70MM TB, Headers, after market cat backs, ETC ETC and went 12.8's on the stock motor. You aren't even showing some of those mods.

I currently have a PI set, stock PI heads, Stock PI cams, JBA's, Stock shortblock, Stock Bullitt Intake, 90 MM meter, Bullitt TB and STILL only run 24's.

You see the numbers in my sig. Sounds to me like someone want you to spend some unecessary money. There is NO need for 30's at all.

Good luck in your modding. Let us know how it turns out after its done. ;)
