I was getting new tires the other day and the guy was telling me a story after talking about my cougar.

He was looking for a new dodge magnum, looking all over the place, and could only find silver and black ones, He wanted a red one. I finally spotted one on a showroom floor at fletcher crystler dodge in franklin.

He walked in, looked at it, and the salesman came up and asked if he needed any help, He just flat out told him he wanted the car right now. The salesman said, Well, that gentleman right over there was looking at it first. He said, Well, This is how im gonna lay it down for you, Ill write out a check for $10,000 right now, and give you the keys to my new Mustang gt. So they got to signing the paper work,

Then the salesman said, Well, Im sry but we can only sit you in a grey one for tonight, that one gentlemen just wrote out a check for the red one. He was like hell no!!!, he got up and walked over to the guy, and said, Well, I hope they screw you like the screwed me on this deal.

The next day, he gets a call from the dealership saying that the gentlemens financing fell through and that he was the new owner of it, come and pick it up.

He said he simply replied, Well, since Ive already wasted my time with you, all I can do is tell you where to shove it. So now he being the manager, talks to clients of discount tire co, telling them to not go to fletcher, He had to of told at least 10 people why I was there.

Oh yea, Tires, BIG IMPROVEMENT, I got stuck behind a guy on a bike today, and he wouldnt get over on the sidewalk at all, so I reved it, and he looked back and flipped me off, I waited for traffic, Looked out for cops, N-dropped it, and it squeeled in 1st, and chirped in 2nd and 3rd. I was thinking cause the tread was taller and didnt make as much grip as the bald slicks I had on it before.

The Magnum is a station wagon, not a truck.

I couldn't understand the story as it was written to figure out what exactly happened other than someone trying to tear up their transmission.

A dodge magnum is a wagon idiot, And the trans has at least a 40K warranty left on it, not to mention the fluid is changed ever 6k, it has a new cooler, and it has no trouble trying to turn 4.10's. thats like trying to pry a coke open with a crowbar.

They let the other "rich" looking guy have it cause the guy that I was talking about, didnt look "first class".

He got one 2 days after at a cheaper price, so, no big deal for him. I guess you like to go back to a place to get screwed over and over huh?

P.S:

My dodge truck had 260K on it when I sold it, ALL ORIGINAL, and still runs today, The only problem was that a few fuel lines were leaking and that was fixed the day before it was sold.

My cougar, my thunderbid, 2 of my friends tbirds, and currently, my neighbors van, ALL 3.8's, blew a headgasket. What should be the first question about calling about a 3.8 cougar or tbird for sale, Has the headgaskets blown yet? the answer will me more than likely yes, and that is why they are wanting to sell it.

Warranty or no warranty... maintenance or no maintenance..

Doing a neutral drop is still BEGGING to break something. And it will always happen at the worst possible time.

let me tell you guys and girls a story my moms friend and leased a 1995 neon . it was 2 years old when this happened. car had 37,100 miles on it cracked the crank in 2 on a parting line. total defect. she couldnt afford to pay a shop to fix it so i pulled and repaired it, send out the block , had everything checked and it was fine. put the new crank in it , put it all back together. guess what 3 months after i fixed it broke agian! chrysler wouldnt do anything for her the first or second time. i even went to the disrtict managers and all. didnt make a dman bit of differance. still wouldnt pay for it, she had another 2 years on the lease , when it happened the second time, she told me put everything trunk and towed to the ealer she got it and had it serviced at. called the chrysler finance told them the story and told them she would not pay anymore ont he car and to go and get it at the dealer and that it needed a motor. she actually took them to court over it and won. moral of the story , DONT EVER BY CHRYSLER! they do not stand behind their junk products. shes notthe only story i have heard of such situations either.

If you have 4.10s but have to neutral drop it to spin the tires, you must be running on like 4 cylinders. You should be able to just cook the hides with 4.10's.

I don't care if you have the best warranty on earth, Neutral Drops are STUPID . If you don't believe those of us who know, then maybe you are too?

Is cool Ive got a parts car,

BTW, jkcat, that is one isolated incident, One bad egg, were talking about a 10K car anyway, My sisters 97 escort is misfiring with only 39K, I didnt mention that cause I know people with excorts, that are running fine at 100K, for the price, they are decent cars, Neons, Ive heard that the transmissions are the first to go.

Then theres Chevy trucks with the infamous "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light, I first heard about this from my auto body teacher, he had an s10 that was throwing 14 codes, then my buddys s10, then it happened to my dads.

But when you try to compare a 95 neon that was abused, to a 87 dodge ram thats had a life of a Volunteer fire dept truck, then a daily driver to this day, (now with a 4" lift and 35" tires, its a perfect runner. So I guess, the guy that assembled your moms neon started after 1987 perhaps.

If you dont belive there is a chance of one person being able to slack off like that in a factory, Guess again.

Call up Lockhart Caddilac, they had a customer return a new car a day later cause they heard a knocking noise after going around turns. The attempted to fix it and sent it on its way, the customer brought it back 2 more times, On the 3rd time, "Lady Lockhart" ordered for the car to be compleatly dissasembled to the frame. When they started cutting the structure of the body open, they found a wrench with a note attached, it said something like "I bet you had hell of a time trying to figure this one out motherf***ers.

Of course, the guy could of been told he was gonna be fired, but why would they put him back out on the line?

Sounds like someone was feeding you an urban legend. Either that, or you're just trying to recycle one.

You change the tranny fluid every 6K? What a horrible waste of money!

4.10's dont really make a whole lot more stress than 3.27's. It's not directly related to the transmission since it's a gear ratio.

new tires get better traction when brand new. And bald tires are NOT slicks. they are BALD TIRES

He didn't really get ripped off. He knew someone else already had dibs on it

I'm surprised your dodge ram didn't blow a tranny or axle :)

ford's blow hg's, daimler/chrysler's blow drivetrains. It's all relative really.

You certainly have a way with separating fact from opinion, then stating them both effectively, Thomas.

Revving the car in neutral and then slamming it into gear, only without a clutch.
