Well I almost made it; I'm going into the Air Force in a couple of months so I'm delivering pizza in the meantime and wouldn't you know my little ricer (Toyota Corolla) had to go out on me. Abrupt oil leak ruined engine don't want to talk about it! So i now have to drive my baby (95 Cougar 4.6L) and get it all scrachted up especially with that dang sign on it, it looks horrible on the roof. My own fault, I guess those signs can't handle speeds of 90 mph (pizza in 20 minutes or less right?) and the thing started sliding off my car leaving a streak of scratches down the roof. Anyway to my point; we all know gas mileage stinks for our cars and since I deliver most of the time in the city where it's 35 mph, stoplight, 35 mph, stoplight, and so on. I was wandering if I would save gas by keeping my overdrive off so my car doesn't have to keep downshifting and upshifting. I have a lead foot so I also wanted to ask if I get more power staying in 3rd gear rather than being in 4th all the time. Last question, I know my maf probably does need to be cleaned, but sometimes I can break my tires loose going into 2nd (when my cars warmed up) and other times I can't, when I hit the pedal to the floor at WOT my car launches and occasionally it just goes normal like I did nothing, and at times I can burnout easily other times I don't even get a squeak (traction control turned off of course). I was thinking it could have something to do with the wire connecting my fuel injector and my pedal because it is a little loose, but I don't know if that's how it's supposed to be? Any input would be really helpful THANKS! P.S. I don't know much about cars!
