The insurance company took posession of my tbird on the 24th. It's now sitting in a junk yard. They handed me a check for $1925 (high milage, front end all ****ed up from hitting a deer).... well, I needed a car quick, no time to search for a decent bird for $1900. I found a 1998 Mazda 626 ES-V6 in the paper for $1800. Leather, 5 spd, 2.5L V6 (170hp and 185ft/lb tq i believe), moonroof, bose sound system.... the only drawback, and it isn't even really a drawback, it's all highway, and the previous owner had every single dealer service/repair receipt in the glovebox... 259,400. The car? Paint looks like it just rolled off the line, seats perfect, headliner perfect, no rust, engine no visible leaks, doesn't burn oil, pulls great, and sounds great, just a little MINOR dirt on the inside.

Even with that milage, the NADA on the book is $5500. It took us 20 minutes to get the DMV to believe I only paid $1800 for it.

So, for now, I'm out of the MN-12 world, but still in Ford territory. I hope to get another bird after I get back from basic training.

And NO, there will be NO RICING. I'm going to buy a small, probably stock wing for the back because the rear end looks bland. As for engine mods, probably not much farther than an ECU tune because of the heavy duty milage.

I'll be around on the forums still, always looking for a good deal on a 96-97 V8. I'll update with pics in a day or two.

Ya. I'm gonna be going, too. I'm looking at a Bronco or full-size pickup. Small V8 or a V6. It's too much work to get it fixed to where I want it. I'll just fix it to sell it. It'd be nice if someone would hit it or something. I've been wanting a big truck, too.
