Bad news: For those who dont know, my Tbird was in a wreck last monday, and is gonna need major repairs. The other guy pulled out from a sidestreet and I was unable to stop in time.

Good News: I am being told that it's fairly cut-and-dry that it's NOT my fault.
Bad news: I think they are going to value my car at a low value and say its totalled. :bs:

Good News: the damage is small enough that with the help on these boards I think I can repair it much cheaper than the estimate is going to say. 3/4 of this car is in nearly perfect shape, and I'm not letting the crusher get it yet

I'll swap the Tbird engine into the 93 CV we've got until i can afford to fully fix the Tbird...
 and maybe a GT swap is in the Tbird's future??? :znanner:
I think some bigger brakes/tires are in my future too....

I've already had an offer on a drivers airbag, which may save me over $150 alone on costs... I appreciate the help everyone.

Familiar

Same crap happened to my brother. He has a 96 LX. He's not as picky as I am with mine, but he loves his car.
He lives in Cabot, AR and is in the Air Force in Jacksonville, just north of Little Rock and some idiot hit him on the main highway. He wasn't able to get a tag or even a good description because he was forced into grass and barely was able to keep the car from hitting anything else.
No real frame or suspension damage but the whole driver's side is mashed. And the totaled it. Unbelieveable!! Perfectly driveable and totaled. Body work is high dollar.

Here is an idea on airbags if you hate them as much as I hate them. I wrecked my Escort and the airbags deployed. I just put some stuffing behind the doors so the shape of the dash and hold looked right, and glued them shut, couldn't tell anything was wrong but if you ever go to sell it I would imagine you should probably tell the buyer that the airbags are not present.

tbird: i totally agree the costs are outrageous on some of these replacement parts. I figure the labor I'm stuck with either way, but I can probably find parts for much less on here...

4 Cam: I don't like them either, but I don't want the liability of not having them in the car. Unfortunately I'm stuck with that much.

It's official, I have been told the car will not be repaired (isnt that what I paid insurance for to begin with???) :zsoapbox: But for now I do not know what they're giving me for it. Once I do, I'll pay what I still owe on it and begin the parts quest. :(
