I apologize ahead of time. I know this topic has been beat to death already. Anyhow my 02 GT engine is almost ready to swap into my 94 Tbird. My mechanic had a few questions I couldn't answer, someone who has already done the swap must know.

His first question was about the serpentine belt/water pump: Which belt do we use? Also which water pump? Apparently he was confused said the pump was turning the wrong way? If someone could clarify that it would help alot.

His second question was about the EGR valve. He doesn't know why I bought a new EGR valve and wants to make sure im not just wasting my money. It was something everyone was listing for their swaps when I ran a search...but honestly I dont know why I have it either? Do I need a new EGR valve?

Then his last question about the 2 temp sensors and the best way to mount them. He was thinking of getting a hose from a 93 from a ford escort with dual fittings. This is beyond me, some people used brass T-fittings? Anyone do the escort thing...or something different/better?

You don't need an EGR valve you do need an EGR Tube that connects the manifold to the EGR valve. The EGR bung in on the drivers side on a mustang motor

if you use the front cover off the GT and that WP, then use that belt.

re: temp sensors
we used the manifold bung for the EEC.
then tapped into the heater hose for the auto climate control.
use a dual fitting or some brass blocks/fittings to connect the dash temp guage to the htr hose in the same spot. it is the most accurate reading.

the escort hose sounds like a good idea to me.
