Can guys who have purchased Alan's 10" converter in the past share their experience briefly? Does it bolt to my flexplate on my '99 Mustang GT? I believe I read that but no longer know where. How does it affect hooking up on the street? Right now I can nail my throttle from idle and it will spin the tires a little but not lose traction. If I launch at 1500 it will lose traction badly and rev to 6000rpm's in about 20ft. and shift to second and drop the revs hard. I have 315/35's. My car is strictly street. I have asked questions on tires in 2 or 3 threads but really did not get a definitive answer. I think I will take a chance with my 315 Sumitomo's and see what happens.
Also interested in the J-mod and why it's better than the SCT pressure increase.
Lastly and this is probably to be answered by the tuner(Darrin?) about the lock up in 2nd gear and whether I would want it to lock say as I am cruising in 3rd and nail the throttle when say at 40mph and it kicks down to 2nd, would I want it to lock then or stall to keep the revs up? Thanks as I have asked Alan a coule of dozen questions and want to give him a break. mark

I was trying to remember what combination I sent you for specifications. I'm pretty sure it was a #8 pump 082 stator, it's a 9.5 inch converter that is fully brazed. The lockup clutch is high carbon and damperless. The surface area of the lockup clutch is 42 square inches.
STR sho$uld be 2.48
thats what alan made for me...haven't had the chance to put it in yet though but i doubt i will have **** for traction on the street

I was told I should know about Alan's work but the quality is not the issue.
This is a street Mustang GT. I do not want to lose any driveability. Alan said to go 3400 stall in that case. I do want as much gain as possible and it's the 50-70 or 80mph time that I want increased. 60' would be fine but I am afraid it would not hook with a high stall.
Then my mechanic raised prices 25%. this new year so this converter and J-mod would cost me over $1100. with parts and labor and I have to ask myself if it's worth it. I am disabled. Took 2-3 days to change the spark plugs. Should be an easier way to gain power, lower et's! :>(
