I'm a relatively new member here with very few posts. I joined because I had acquired a wrecked 1990 Super Coupe. It was an impulse buy because it was a great price and a very limited window of opportunity to acquire it. It sat in my enclosed trailer for almost four months while I debated what to do with it. It was a one owner car which had very good care and the maintenance records to back it up. The down side was that due to unfortunate issues and events for the owner the car sat in storage for two years in a fenced compound. During that time it was broken into by idiots who pried and ruined the dash board when stealing the after market head unit There was also other damage done to the interior. After long deliberation I decided that it was not a good idea to restore the car because the cost far out weighed the end value as published by several price guides. I always liked T-Birds and we have owned several back in the '90s we bought new. I have several other projects ongoing and I am an old geezer so it's not at all practical for me to take on more than I can possibly ever get around to doing or completing. I decided it was better for me to part this thing out and harvest the engine and some other components for one of my ongoing projects ans sell the rest and/or take it to the crusher. Unfortunately I can't advertise the parts here because I do not have the minimum number of required posts and I'm not up to creating useless posts just to get the thirty I need to advertise them here.
I am going to use the supercharged 3.8L V-6 and the complete independent rear suspension system in one of my '53 Ford F-100s as well as some other misc. parts and components. The stock wheels are in excellent condition but they are just not what I want for my F-100 project. I plan on selling those and the five speed M5R2 manual tranny as well as many of the electronic modules and other parts.
There are several problems I am trying to solve regarding combining different Ford systems. I am using a Rolling chassis from a '99 Explorer as well as instrumentation and control. I would be very much interested in hearing from anyone who has worked with and/or has extensive working knowledge of these systems. I have acquired the Ford manuals for these systems in the T-Bird as well as the Explorer and I have worked out a lot of the problems although I still have some problems to work out.
If anyone here has knowledge of this stuff or can hook me up with someone who does, I'd love to hear from them.
