I have an elk skull I need to mount. I just want to wire it to a bolt on my fireplace but don't know how to mount it without breaking the skull. Anyone done this?

No hunters here? Or at least a taxidermist...

I would take a piece of plywood and paint it black. Then paint a huge upside-down star on it. Mount the skull in the center. Then mount it in your front yard where everybody can see it.

That's a toughie. I believe that they sometimes use some sort of "straps" that go around part of the eye sockets and onto a board. Could be wrong. Other than doing somethign like that (withzipties), I'd say some sort of glue on a board.

nope, fireplace. Just want the bare skull on the wall. It's an 8 pointer with good 3 foot spread. Guy on the side of the highway in NM was selling them. Got it at a great price, about 1/4 of the cost to actually hunt one.

Leather. Check.

I walked in on my wife bending a coat hanger through the ear holes. Argh.
