I was thinking on getting some headers for the 95 4.6 that I bought any my dad is telling me not to saying they leak all the time and are very high maintainence. How much truth is there to that? Also, how hard would it be to re-tune the car if I were to get true dual exhaust put on.

Retuning would not be necessary just for dual exhaust. As far as the headers go, if you get good quality headers and install them properly the first time, you won't have a problem. If you buy cheap headers or you don't tighten them down in the correct sequence or to the correct torque, or you don't go back and retighten all the bolts after about 20 minutes of driving, then they will probably leak.

That is what I thought about both of the questions. Of course he won't believe me so I'll just have to prove it. I have a feeling headers weren't built as good in the 70's and he is thinking of how they were then.

I'm with madmike, no problem with having headers but as with any thing they do require upkeep.
