my lights have been working fine, then recently, they wont turn on. im thinking the switch because when i pull it all the way back (the one on the dash), just my yellow corner lights go on, and the only way i can get the lights to go on is to pull back on the brights lever (allll the way back, and then all of my lights will go on, including the brights) so i kno its not the bulbs. is it just the switch? what should i check? its getting annoying having to hold back the lever to drive at night

Sounds like the switch. There was a factory recall on all '93s for headlight switch replacement. I had mine in for service about a year ago, and they replaced it... of course I had replaced it some years ago when it went nutty on me. I'd be driving down the road at night, and the headlights would start blinking on-and-off, or go out completely. You may want to call your local stealership (have the VIN handy) to see if it's ever been replaced under the recall. If not, it should be a freebee.

If no luck there, a new one can generally be had for under $20.00 unless you have the auto-dim headlights. Biggest pain replacing the switch is getting the knob off. Other than that, it's a 5 or 10 minute job.

Get it fixed. Holding the "brites" switch back will probably burn out the contacts in short order - they're made for just momentary contact. You'll soon have two problems to fix!

That is all...

Doubt you'd get a free switch.

Either buy a used one cheap, and fix your headlights as I posted on your other post, or buy a new one, and you'll probably still want to fix your lights, or you'll have this happen again. I've heard a few people say they've had this happen more than once.
