hopefully this link works https://plus.google.com/photos/101127802986016174780/albums/5938138828574224017/5938138861872195682?pid=5938138861872195682&oid=101127802986016174780

My family and are all ok thank goodness, my son didnt get so much as a scratch or bruise, he has a great car seat :)

My wife and i took the airbags kinda hard, she fractured a finger and got bag burns on her face, and i nearly broke my wrist.

I'll get some more pictures when i talk to the adjuster and what nots.

Hopefully i'll be in the market to find another nice clean low milage bird after we get all the money stuff taken care of.

Sorry to hear this. Google requires a linked account - I guess you have to "Friend" each of us for us to see the pix.

Try posting your pictures to Photobucket for more public access.

Read this how to.

Thank you, we all 3 went to the hospital to get checked out.

Started the insurance claim process this morning, so hopefully will hear from an adjuster today, this process is all new to me, never been in an accident so bad before.

I'm currently doing some research in how to deal with the insurance adjuster, trying to find comparable cars for pricing.

any tips n tricks any of you have to help?

When I had to deal with this on my 95, I dug up multiple examples of birds with close to the same mileage and exact same options I could that were for sale at dealers around the area. Since I have that chameleon color it was a bit hard to locate, but I managed to find one identical to mine inside and out.

When they tried to low ball me on the price (which they all try), I killed their fax machine for a few hours sending examples I had found. 2 days later I had a check for the amount that the one that looked like mine was selling for.

Got the first offer from the adjuster today, not as low as i was expecting, 3600. Told her to get an independent appraiser and have them look at it.

Emailed them some pre wreck photos, and some links to local birds selling.

Q: Does the $3600 include any allowances for medical injuries/copays?
While I can't see your pics, a friend + his wife got rear ended in their volvo wagon a few years ago here in CA and in addition to the the cost to repair the vehicle, the they offered $600/person to cover any medical deductibles (provided they promised not to sue).

Considering neither of them we injured, it was a nice bonus. In your case, you do have some medical expenses so I hope they are offering enough to cover any shortfall on your end.

Decent offer. How much are you looking or hoping to get for it? Was that $3,600 offer just for the car?

Hell, they may come back and say "After reviewing the pictures and local market prices we're going to give you $2,000". Be careful what you ask for!

I recently talked to my ins co. about an agreed upon value policy for my car that's Waaayyy more than Kelly BB for a '95 Tbird.

I'm so emotionally attached to it, i want 10k for it :))

But I would like to be in the 4500-5000 range.

I mean the car is/was nearly perfect, some clear getting thin on the exterior, but no dents/dings, no tears or burns on the inside, and only 95k miles.

Local dealers (250mi range) are asking 4-7k for Nice clean Birds.

The one closest in miles and condition to mine is 5k.

The 3600 is just for the car including tax tag and title fees.

The medical bills are being handled by a different person from the same insurance group. I've talked to him and he said whatever bill we get for medical stuff, hospital, meds, follow up visits they'll take care of.

Send them the listing for the $5K bird. Tell them that is the car that you want to replace yours with, and ask them to use it as the comparable vehicle. Make sure you let them know about any flaws that the $5K one has that yours didn't have. Also make sure to buy your car back from them, that way you can transfer any better parts from yours onto the new one, and possibly sell some parts off your car to recoup some money.

Obviously it varies with location, but I got 4200 for my 97. They didn't really inspect it for damage (100 feet away the inspector said 1000 front clip, 2000 air bags, 1000 dash, 4000 refinishing (painting the tri coat pearl and blending nearly doubled that) and inspected it for worth instead. The report had a single item on it, a quarter sized spot where the headliner separated. He said he looked at a 2012 car with 1000 miles and non accident normal wear and tear and misuse/abuse it was 1000 times worst the condition. It was in better condition before the accident than the 2011 Toyota Corolla that pulled in front of me.

Plus I was attached to it as well, but I was realistic, I figured I would get 2500~3000. I bought it in 2003 for 6000 bucks and while I did some work to it, I mainly just maintained it mechanically and looks wise.

In addition they took the medical bill (for my daughter, she was sore from the airbag and had her head turned slightly at impact) and added 1000 bucks.

I bought mine back, it is in my back yard. I am not sure I will get the time to fix it, but for the little it cost me be buy it, and having 3 cars I can use the transmission, and 2 cars I can use the engine in, it was worth it.
