I have a 97 Tbird, with the 16" oem sport rims.

I jst notcie that one of my front wheels is missing a lug nut, and the stud also looks broken (I'm pretty sure it is; it's not jutting out as far as I should, when I look into the "hole" created by the missing lug nut). How bad is this? should I get this fixed right away?
sorry for the amateurish "?"s, but how big of a thing is this?
I recently had my tires rotated; I wonder if it happened then :(

so replacing the lug nut AND the stud is easy?
Take the wheel off. Get a big hammer, and knock the old stud out. You might have to rotate the hub to a certain position to give some room behind it.

To put the new stud in, you'll need a stack of 4-5 thick washers. Push the stud in from the back of the hub. Slip the washers over the stud (consider putting some grease between a couple of the washers), then start cranking down with the lug nut to pull it through. Easy money if you have an air impact wrench, kind of a pain if you don't. The reason for the washers is so your lug nut won't bottom out on the stud before it gets fully seated.
