Hey guys, the bird is down again just after getting it back from the shop...Anyways the car wouldnt start, the car burned out the main fuse under the hood hence why the car wouldnt start. The guys at the shop narrowed the problem down to the lower left hand area of the engine bay (where the MAF is) in that general area. Apparently there is a complete short in one of the wires because when they jumped it over the car started right up but the device they used got red hot... So does anyone have suggestions about which wires to check or is it just a trial and error thing?? thanks

They're sure that the trouble is near the MAF?

That mega fuse is on the alternator-to-battery circuit, if the alt or it's output lead were to short to ground, it would blow that fuse. If it was generating power when it shorted, it would most likely also have burnt up the regulator inside the alt.
