My pops has a 2000 ranger 3.0L FF. I need to remove the idler pulley because its spent. I only looked at it for a second but it looks like Iam going to have to pull the fan and shroud to get the idler off. Where can you pick up a fan clutch remover? I assume thats what its called. Or is a dealer only tool? Also I wonder if this is a universal tool for fords that will possibly work on our MN-12 also. Thanks much!!

If it is a nut type clutch fan with a smooth pulley, no teeth, it will be reverse thread. AutoZone will lend you a tool to remove it. I have found that a chain wrench comes in handy too.
