NOT!!! Because I'm not an idiot!!

http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/05/22/lifelock.flap.ap/index.html

Davis acknowledged in an interview with The Associated Press that his stunt has led to at least 87 instances in which people have tried to steal his identity, and one succeeded: a guy in Texas who duped an online payday loan operation last year into giving him $500 using Davis' Social Security number.
Wahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhaha

I was wondering how long it would be before someone was successful. What a loon!! Putting his info out on TV and daring people to use it!!!

NEVER be so cocky as to challenge the whole WORLD!!! :D

Naw...he was 100%. Since he got caught, it does not count. I bet money that even since ONE person was able to get anything from it, that he gets more business.

Word to the wise...

NEVER tempt a hacker. They'll find ways to prove you wrong. Just ask Bill Gates when he said that XP couldn't be hacked...It took 2 weeks before there were crack codes for it.

Well no kidding.

I always wondered if that really was his social security number. I just never wanted to risk taking any steps to find out! :)

All it takes is once.

I've had my identity stolen before. Some prick opened another Paypal acct under my name and was trying to start a p*rn site.

Lets see. By announcing his SS# publicly he temporarily lost $500 to identity theft and his company probably made him millions. I'd take those odds.
I don't know about

I would bet that plastering his SSN all over the place will come back to haunt him for years to come!! It's not like you can easily change you SSN. This one time was only $500. What about the next time, maybe someone will buy a car using his SSN... :D

I'd like to see someone forge a birth certificate with information readily available through public domain document searches, get a passport with his name, go to a small third world country, and fake their own death. :beek:

I wonder how that “identity theft”" would affect him. :zdevil:

LOL!!

Nope, but as a network weenie and a disaster recovery person, I have to always do the "what if's"..... Which leads to some really "evil" thoughts. :D

Or at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it. ;)

And now he's being sued for all his money by his customers.
