hey guys,....i'm coming accross 250-300 or so and was wondering what i should do w/ it. i have a stock thunderbird w/ removed silencer and new tranny to jerry's specs......i have the 3.27 track lok and 4.6L v8... should i get ....

1. dennis chip
2. flowmster exhaust kit/dynomax
3. subwoofer and amp for stereo (lol what a mod)
4. tint (back three windows legal in NJ)
5. rich M intake

any and all opinions are welcomed. i'm leaning towards the chip for better performance and mpg (i'm a student and it's a daily driver)

Well with $300.00 your not going to get the best Sub and Amp combo. From what I here the catback doesn’t give a whole lot. Rich M intake is just for looks your stock one is fine. Window tinting shouldn’t cost you $300.00. So me personally I would go with the Dennis chip.

Buts that’s just my .02 cents

I disagree...

...The RichardM intake is not just for looks. I believe that the specifications that have been tested by Richard show about a 10-15 hp increase. The stock violin case intake tube is very restrictive. I just put on the RichardM intake, and there is a nice SOTP increase. The throttle is much more responsive. Also, if you are planning on addtional mods that would increase airflow, this would be very much recommended (ie. LMAF, or mustang MAF). When you change the MAF you will need to have your chip reflashed for the transfer function of the increased airflow. If you have 200-300, then you just need to decide what you want to do, and in what order you want to do it. I do agree, that you wont get much for your money in stereo equipment. The other thing to think about is that if you are getting more air in, then you need to free up your exhaust. Personally, I went with the true duals and the Dynomax mufflers (now have FLowmasters) as one of my first mods. It is just all a matter of how you want to go. There is no way to say that one way is better than the other. The overall goal is always the same....GO FASTER!!!

well i'm not looking at spending a lot of money on the bird right now,....i'm actually trying to save some money up 'cause of college and stuff. so far i'm thinking that the chip will be the best bang for the buck seeing as how a new MAF is mucho money,.....if i do the exhaust i might as well do it all....

now i think it's between....

1. chip
2. intake tube (rich M)
3. maybe i'll tint the two side windows myself and save some money. hehe.

only thing w/ the intake is that there's other things you can do w/ Home Depot performance that are better than the violen case,...i can't flash an eeprom myself. heheh.

if i get the chip i can change out my violen case for somethin else keeping the stock MAF and not have to get it reflashed right?

Well let me know...

...If you go with the RichardM tube, then I might sell you my 80mm LMAF. I am planning on going with the Mustang 80mm LMAF, so I will need to sell mine. The LMAF's are not that much money, so if Richard has any available, then you could still have money left over to buy the LMAF. BTW, my LMAF is new, and has not been installed. Then you can save your money again, buy the chip and put the LMAF on at the same time, eliminating the need to get your chip re-flashed. Just a thought. Hope I have helped. BTW...I really was impressed with the RM tube....

I would go with the chip first, with exhaust not far behind. I learned the hard way on my first car that a engine that takes in a lot of air, also has to get rid of it. A little backpressure is good. A lot of back pressure is not so good. Very few bolt-ons on our cars will take the system to it's max, but if heads or a blower are in the car's future- well, you get the idea...

RichardM intake

The RichardM intake does a lot for a 94 - 95 bird. Get that and the chip if at all possible. Then add the cat back later. It is a little better than stock and if nothing else it sounds better. I have the RM intake, a Jerry chip and the Dynomax catback and I really like the way it runs and sounds.

i say if you do nothing else, get the exhaust. your going nto have to send your chip out to be recalibrated if you get a bigger MAF, so wait until you do that for the chip. the chip would be a great purchase, but you have to think medium to long term what would be the best choice
