sounds like one of genos gauges. Just cause someone put in a aftermarket part that says SVT its now a SVT lol. Its just as bad as the Hondas with Rs on them if you claim your tbird is SVT. Funny stuff. It can have aftermarket parts that are SVT but In my mind there is no SVT bird, Alex B's being the closest clone to one.

SVT....fatmouse?....(6) feedback...?

Yeah, I emailed Mr. fatmouse the following:

"I am seriously interested in your auction. I was not aware
Ford put the SVT iteration of the Thunderbird into
actual production.

As the original owner, might you have either, the
window sticker with a reference to the SVT package/option;
or, if you have your 'Bird's build sheet, the parts codes
unique to the SVT assembly?

What is the difference between your SVT 4.6L engine and a
"stock" 205hp 4.6L V-8 SOHC? I find a 55hp increase via
a chip most interesting.

Might you be able to email pictures, including the engine?

Thank you for your help,

G. MacGregor (thndrbrd)
Tempe, AZ"

I'd be surprised if anybody even gets a reply....

I find it hard to believe the cleanest used 1996 Thunderbird has 226,000 miles on it. What a schmuck.

Free listing day brought all the tards out...

I got a reply from him.

Jeremy,

Hows it going:? I will send you some pictures when I come back from my vacation. It has factory horsepower rated at 220. With the diablo power chip it has 40 more added to 220 which makes it 260. The dual exhaust probably gives it a little more but im not sure. Its a great car though.

thanks,

matt

Hey, if he thinks that RPM gauges with SVT on them makes it an SVT car then I guess he believes the maximum listed hp increase always happens.

And its not rated at 220HP, its only rated at 205HP. I asked him about it being a SVT and he didn't respond to it. Wonder what kind of dual exhaust it has... Maybe just cuz 2 pipes come out the back that makes it dual exhaust

When you e-mail him next, include the link to this thread so he can get a clue. Poor guy needs guidance.

Good thing he hasnt put a K&N filter in; that would put him up to around 270hp. I wonder if he notices anything when he gets blown away by mustangs who are rated lower than 260hp?

Hey Keith!!!!

Gosh, maybe YOU COULD HAVE BEEN A BIT MORE TACTFUL - seems
like this guy just doesn't know, as opposed to trying to scam
someone.....just foolin' with ya...LOL.

I mean what can the poor guy say after your last email? :uppoint:

Ah there it is. Some insurance companies do indeed list a V8 Thunderbird as an SVT Thunderbird. There was a thread about this on the last iteration of the forums.

This car has a nice hood though.

could do without the light in the scoop. Otherwise looks like a half way decent sport.

Anyways is anyone here paying for a SVT thunderbird on their insurance? I know it was posted a while ago. I pay for a sadan, go figure that but I am not complaining... sadans a less in insurance I think.
