Likewise.

My family and I send our thoughts and prayers out to everyone who's lost so much this spring with all the severe thunderstorms and tornadoes.

I saw the F4-F5 sized tornado go by Birmingham. Makes me glad I'm up here by the ocean. I couldn't possibly imagine loosing everything in a matter of seconds.

Well here in AR (I know not the Deep South, IMHO the Midwest but...) generally speaking the reports are being blown out of proportion.

I was missed by most of the hail, but the storms and rain was impressive.

The expensive section of Knoxville got hit by extreme hail, 4-6" diameter, as well as 70+ winds.

I've seen probably 100k in car damage, in the parking lot at work... lots of large dents, and broken glass.

Windows in houses were taken out, roofs taken off; tornado warnings everywhere.

It su*ked, totally.

Yes indeed: thoughts and prayers with all. My family has several friends in the area - some of which lost home and everything in it.
About 10 min ago one of the local wine bars my employer does business with asked us to hang up this poster for a benefit for the victims. It is a slide show of a local photographers work. Picture is relevant and interesting for 2 reasons. (sorry for the quality - I took a pic of the poster w/ my phone bc I don't think it's on the web anywhere yet)

Wow!

I'm always amazed by the devastation of tornadoes. There's nothing else like it.

The closest thing I've ever seen in person was the devastation of New Orleans and Louisiana after Katrina.

RIP T-Bird.

I hope you guys down there are still receiving the help you need. It's amazing how quickly disasters fade from the national conscience. One moment the destruction from these storms is the top headline in the news and then ... "This just in ... Bin Laden has been killed ... " or "the Mississippi river is flooding" and everybody forgets about the storms.

Joplin is actually about an hour from me. A friend of mine and I were grilling steaks when we began to hear "rumors" that a tornado had hit "Parts" of Joplin. (Didn't have the TV or radio on) Wasn't till I went to work yesterday that I knew just how bad it was. Checked with all friends that live in the area, and all are accounted for, and ok. An ex-girlfriends mother had her home destroyed but she is ok. (remember "travelersx"?)

Thanks for the updated. Glad to hear you're doing well. An hour away is still pretty close.
