The Bilstien shocks that I got for a Crown Vic fit the bird! Slid in quite nice also.
I'll have some pics up soon. when it dries up again.

I would think panther shocks would give a plushy, floaty ride.[/COLOR]
I have Bilstein HDs on my '01 Mercury Grand Marquis ...
... there is nothing mushy about them.

Not sure about the comfort shocks.

I'ld be more concerned with compressed and extended lengths compared?

For a fact, no way the fronts work from a CV ... but the rears might. Have to compare lengths, but I suspect the CV shocks might be longer. I'll measure some of each after while.

Well, I forgot ... so I went to Monroes website and looked up numbers for a 95 Bird and a 01 Crown Vic.

CV takes a # 5961 while the Bird takes a #5965 Sensatrac.

Top stud is same length, same thread, same same.

Bottom is very simular, the Bird shock having a 9/16", the CV a 1/2" bolt the chart says but it may be shouldered.

Lengths

C,V. #5961 @ 12.125" compressed, 20.000" extended, 7.875" travel

Bird #5965 @ 14.500" compressed, 19.125" extended, 4.625" travel

Looks like the CV shock will compress shorter and extend further than bird shock. Compression is limited on a Bird by bump stop. Suspension drop is stopped by the shock, so if you "grab air", might want to add limiting straps or chain or cable though it's not much more ... but if you have short springs might be enough to let a spring fall out.

Otherwise, looks doo-able.
