Just curious how far you could theoretically move the 4.6L towards the rear of the car without cutting the firewall or anything like that. Could you move it far back enough that you could install a T-45 from a mustang without a shifter extension? If anyone has any knowledge of doing this, let me know. Thanks.

honestly, it would cost you more work and money to bring the engine back than to just make or buy the extension plate, MN12 Performance makes one......did a good job of it too.

Just my 3 cents!

You would have to move the engine bac 4-5 inches for the shifter to be in the correct position.

Extension box is the way to go.

Maybe it's a really expensive "Y" pipe. He had a little extra money around and opted to improve the stock set up. Just kidding. My vote is "X"
