I am going to be putting an M5R2 behind the 393 that I'm putting in my 91. I already have a trans I pulled out of a parts car that is used, but has no problems. I also have an 89 XR7 that has worn out 2nd and 3rd synchros. What I'm debating right now is if I should put the good trans behind the 393, or should I put it in the 89 and send that trans out to be built up to handle more power? I just don't want to destroy a perfectly good trans that I can put to good use if it won't be able to take the extra power.
