Does anyone know of, or has ever heard of any sites that deal with locating a previously owned car? Here's why. About two months ago, my sister and I go to visit my uncle and sick aunt to try and raise her spirits (she had a mild heart attack). They live on a 75 acre farm that my uncle and dad bought togather back when I was a kid. My uncle and Dad are car guys, so over the years, alot of cars have accumilated on the property. When we where there, my uncle made an excuse to leave without saying very much. I mossy on out into the woods where the cars are at to check on them. ALL of the cars are GONE!!! And he won't talk to me. They are irreplaceble if only for the sentimental value. My Dads '66 Fleetwood that I grew up in. And the '74 Ranchero that my dad and I hopped up togather are just a few. His Mark VIII is gone. The '71 T'bird Landau with the 429 is gone. My sisters '70 Cyclone GT is gone. The '70 Torino GT that we took the Boss 351C out of for the Ranchero is gone (it was a parts car for our '71 Torino Cobra which is here (thank god) ). And a few others. My plan at this point is to go to the county court house with titles in hand and report the vehicles as stolen. Now I need to try and track them down. I know it's probably hopeless to get them back, but I need to try. Any suggestions would be super!! Thanks for your help!! My sister and I are so hurt. :(

When we visited that day, he made some sort of excuse to leave while we were there. After I walked back and saw that they were gone, and we left, we have tried to call him to find out what and why, but the calls are not answered. I may take another trip down there after I make the reports. Even thou I'm sure my aunt knew what was going on, I don't think she is to blame and I don't want to stress her out since she is ill.

Reporting the cars stolen when the one who presumably(?) stole/sold them off is her husband, that isn't going to stress her out any?

If a bunch are cars that were stored on their rural property are reported stolen I can only imagine the police might want to question the both of them about what happened, regardless if they had any involvement...

When was the last time you even knew they were still there?

I would try to get an answer from you’re uncle before u report them stolen. He might have sold him for some reason.

I hate when people won’t give u a simple answer lol.

At most that would reveal the state it's been retitled in. that's if they've been properly retitled and Carfax is up to date on the records.

They don't provide previous owner contact info. That's a recipe for getting sued by some victimized current owner who was tracked down via a Carfax report. I'm sure theres plenty of other reason not to do it too.

Besides all that Carfax only works with modern 17 digit VIN's. None of the cars he's mentioned are new enough to have a 17 digit VIN.

Well, my uncle listed the property for sale at around Sept/Oct. of this past year. We didn't find this out till about late Dec.. We figure that he had to get the cars off of the property so that the new owners didn't have to remove them (plus curb appeal). He most likely junked them, however, I remember him calling here numerous times asking my Dad if he wanted to sell something (like his Ranchero) to someone who was interested in buying it. My uncle still buys, fixes up, and resells cars like he did with my dad so many years ago. The last time I know for sure that the cars were still there was when we had my Dads' Mark VIII taken there after the accident (05/05). Most of our cars there where titled to my Dad, or with my Mom named as (and) on the title. I have them. This really chaps my ###. Thanks again for any help or suggestions. Edit, I was just thinking, It was the beginning of last summer (April 06) when I went down and checked on the cars. I was looking for some parts for my Tracer because my uncle had a few escorts there.
