I have to replace my drivers side door outside, does anybody have an ideal why I could not use stainless screws with lock tight and and lock washers to re-install the handle.

Anyone have any ideals??

The rivets are very big and the gun for it would cost more than the handle so I want to use the screw ideal.

Thanks

The reason why you can't use a bolt/nut setup to hold on the door handle is because the nut and the end of the bolt will hit the window track. Been there, tried that, bought the BIG rivet gun. As J.Miller mentioned, any body shop should be able to install it for you if you don't want to buy the correct rivet gun.

What size rivet and gun did you get?

Thanks.

If I remember correctly, it does up to 1/4" rivets. It has all the different tips on the handle.
