For all of you complaining about the high price of gas this might be a good solution.

Did you know that since 1982 the people that live in Alaska actually get a check annually from the state for a percentage of the states oil revenue! The program is called the Alaska Permanent Fund and the payouts have varied from the smallest ($331.29 per person in 1984) to the largest ($1,963.86 per person in 2000), they usually vary between $600 and $1,500 ($900 and $1,800 when adjusted for 2005 dollars).

so, thats basically a free years worth of gas...assuming there isnt much in Alaska to do.

Problem is you cant drive to alot of Alaska, gotta fly or take boat.... or dog sled.

At the current price of gas, I think it would be cheaper to fly there and BUY an bird and have a meet then drive there.
