When i'm driving down the road about 25-30 MPH I hear this humming noise coming from the rear. It quits as soon as i let go of the accelerator. What could this be?

My car does the same thing. Mine didn't start until I changed the pumpkin (i had to drop the exhaust and found out I had two leaks... so it might be that).

it only hums in third gear, going about 35-40. I talked to a buddy, and he said if it were the pumpkin/gears, it would make the noise constantly!

Any ideas?! I did find out that I had two air leaks in my exhaust. Could it be that vibrating or something?

I experienced that. Eventually, the humming turned into chattering. I drained my differential oil and it looked like glitter. Now I have my precious 8.8" Tracloc differential. I'd recommend checking your oil first of all.
