I know this thread was locked for some reason but I just saw that commercial where the Bird had to brake in the turn. Where did they get that Bull**** from. I have driven both cars and I must saw that althought the Jetta is German built and handles great, I assure you that my Bird would have to slow down to keep from running into the rear of it. On 18 x 8's and Eibachs, I took a many an on and off ramps, without the wife of course, at speeds that exceeded most speed limits and the car held beautifully. In the emmortal words of Public Enemy "Don't believe the hype!!!!"

Ever notice that in Nascar they throw out all that FWD ssh*tt?
Also all forms of all out race cars are rear wheel drive??
That comercial makes me LAUGH.They all so brought you the one where the woman is tooo dumb to bring down the sun visor, she's mesmerized
by the glare of the truck in front of her.
Besides my folks were in German work camps, wouldn't drive one of their cars if they gave it to me with a gas credit card.

Okay so it's not a jetta, but a friend of mine just bought a Corrado, and let me tell you, it handles better than any t-bird I know of. In fact, it's one of the best handling FWD's ever made.

Now I dont want someone to jump down my neck about it, because if done right, a tbird can handle great. But in situations like autocross or some tight corner track, the smaller car will win. I also love how comfy my bird is. That corrado hurts my knees :( But you have to give german engineering some respect when it comes to finely built vehicles.

Being here in Washington for the last month, this place is the home of all Volkswagons, I've never seen so many Corrados and Scirrocos before.

My friend would envy you if he knew lol. He has the only Corrado in town, and there are only 5 in Iowa all together.

Seattle, Portland, Eugene, and Jacksonville. Every time I go to ANY of those cities, I notice the BMW and VW (and I can assume yuppie) population is huuuuuge. I think, actually, the Starbucks density is usually proportional to the BMW, VW, and Volvo density ;)

Carrados are pretty sweet little things, but I knew 3 people here in Dayton that had them, and ironically all 3 of them wrecked and totalled them. and only one was able to rebuild his. But anyway...............

Thats an unfair comparison the Bird vs the Corrado.......the wheel base is no where near close of course it is going to handle like a toy, but I bet ya he doesnt get much in the back seat ;)

I've seen at least 5 Corrados just in the past week here on Ft. Lewis, so I'd imagine there's quite a few up the road in Seattle.

pregnant roller skates

Aren't they just a glorified Rabbit? I could almost see myself owning a turbocharged diesel Rabbit with some power, but at the same time, I don't see myself thinking it's cool.

I see tons of VW's in my mirrors. I can't tell you what they are cause aside from the bug they all look the same to me from the front and I don't get to see their badges.

and those Scions are the ugliest pieces of crap ever. Well, maybe there are some others, but I'd rather have a Festiva.

The Scion is just a toyota in new skin. All the aftermarket is TRD. Basically it is just more rice we have to go around.
