i have this 90 sitting in my back yard, but it has a hard time to idle once I start it. Well just not a hard time, it just won't idle at all in the begining. I have to put the gas on it for 5 mins, until it warms up and then it's fine. How could I get it to idle off of the start? I looked at all of the fluids. Thanks.

Clean or replace your IAC Idle Air control

Where would the IAC be located? How would I clean it?

This is where it lives, use electrical contact cleaner and a small acid brush.
Dont use carb cleaner as it will damage it and dont scrub it hard.

Looks just like the IAC in the 4.6L diagram except its bolted to the throttle
body on the SC.

It's not just like the IAC on the 4.6L diagram, different engines thus different location! Isn't this the SuperCoupe Forum :D

You may have a serious vacuum leak will cause similiar idle problems......I would invest in some of those telfon gaskets made by TBird88....or use some high temperature RTV.

See the IAC on the throttle body, its the black thing bolted on the right of the TB.

That's what I said, and by the way, they do look similar!
Try reading the thread again, you'll see it was there was a slight
missunderstanding.

I was merely pointing out that if someone doesn't know where to look on the SC for the IAC, how in the world would he/she be able to locate it on the SC WITHOUT a good picture of a 3.8L INSTEAD of a 4.6L diagram that you posted. Maybe try getting the right picture for your explaination next time! Cheers........

Who cares. I know where it is now and I would of been able to find it just with the 4.6 chart. I will clean that, but if it doesn't stop the idle problem where should I look for a vacume leak? Does it come from the intake tube???

Ask Chris! He will know all about vacuum leaks on an SC. LMFAO If he doesn't know, someone else will chime in with an answer. I have a few suggestions, but since "who cares", I will let him tell you where to look.

Guess we've gotten off on the wrong foot, I'll make the first piece offering.

Apologies for my earlier comments, I generaly don't get into pi$$ing contests
in the forums, it wasn't my initial intention.
Didn't have my normal cup of Java before going on line so I guess I may have
been a little cranky:D
Anyway, by all means offer some advise cause SC's are not my strong point.
They seem to have their own unique problems.

Not a problem Chris. I would like to apologize to you for what I said, was not my intention to blast your post. Just the fact that 4.6 is a different engine, no harm done.

Back to the subject at hand, I would recommend that you read this post from Vernon about Boost Leaks.
Boost Leaks by Vernon Cradier

I would check the IC flanges to the intercooler, the small vacuum lines on the plenum, etc. etc. Now would be a good time to invest in some of these gaskets that tbird88 has made.
IC Gaskets from tbird88

Let us know how things go!

Neat artical. SCCOA is the other sight I like to search through, alot a good
T-Bird info. I used to mess around with Garret aircraft turbochargers and
boost controllers years ago. Big problems with those systems was coked
up turbos, ceased or melted wastegates, loose clamps, and oil leaks.
Never played much with superchargers.Cheers:zbeer:
