Long story short. My car is stuck in a parking lot after trying to get the ignition to move out of lock. Tried doing what the book said about rocking the steering wheel left and right to no avail.

Any way around this or possible fixes would be extremely helpful.

Thanks in advance

Not sure if it's the same problem, but on mine I had a problem getting the ignition to lock.

Take the console lid off. At the bottom right of the shifter, you'll see a small cable attached to a clip. Remove the cable from the clip by lifting it out of there. Hopefully this will take care of the problem.

Oh mine used to do that, where you couldn't turn the key at all, right? I'd always just mess with it till it broke free, but I guess you haven't any such luck. If you can find a way to get into the column and move the ignition actuator (the part that is rotated by the lkey in the lock cylinder) then you should be good to go. I think what happens is the key cylinder wears out, thus not allowing it to rotate even with the correct key inserted.
