I'm Having One of Those Days.

Have you ever had one of those days?!? You know what type of day I'm talking about!! We've all had them. :(

  • 0200 to 0201 Wrench my already hurt back due to a nearby lightning strike almost knocking me out of bed!!
  • 0201 to 0400 Relocated to the basement to wait out the severe thunderstorms with their lightning, massive rain, high winds, tornadoes, blah, blah, blah ...
  • 0430 to 0500 Power outage. Get ready for work via lantern light
  • 0500 to 0520 Drive part of the way to work and realize I left my badge at home.
  • 0520 to 0540 Drive home and retrieve my badge
  • 0540 to 0545 While leaving my driveway I had to drive around a downed tree limb that was on the driver side of the car. I cut a corner too sharp and hit a stump on the passenger side of the car!!! Four foot crease down the side of the door and a small crease on the quarter panel!!
  • Did I mention I was driving my 97 Mark VIII LSC!!!!!! &*@%!!*&%%#&%$#!!!! :bawling:
  • 0545 to 0640 Drive to work in the dark and rain while dodging non-driving fools, small animals, and downed tree limbs.
  • 0640 to 0700 Wait at the gate to get on base as it appears they are scrutinizing the badges a little more closely. (Did I mention I am supposed to be at work at 0600?)
  • 0710 to 0720 Arrive at work and begin answering emails, answering the phone, etc..
  • 0720 to 0740 Complete 20 mile excursion to escort personnel onto the base because our security division neglected to inform the gate guards that these personnel would be here for the week. A lot of the outbound lanes are closed in the AM, so one has to drive off base, around the base, and then back on base.
  • 0740 to 0745 Begin eating apple (Mmmmmm breakfast). Drop said apple on floor. Kick apple across room. Clean up apple goop from floor and wall. Throw away apple. Learn vending machine is not working. Explain violent outburst to visitors.
  • 0740 to xxxx Work with visitors as they rip my network apart and rewire and reconfigure most of my communication devices. We shouldn't take anything down. Yeah, right!! :leftright
I have no idea how much the repairs are going to be to the Mark VIII, but I'm guessing around $1000 to $1500. The door skin will have to be replaced and the repainted. :bawling: :bangwall:

JUST SHOOT ME NOW!!!

The sad part is that I'm only driving the Mark because I have the MAF, thermostat, etc. out of the T'Bird getting ready for the chip and Lightning MAF install. :(

Usually the Mark stays under cover and I don't drive it that much. :bawling:

I'll be getting an estimate this evening.

How's this for a bad two days: on the way home from work, my dad gets hit in his tacoma by a guy running from the cops in a high-speed chase. he's ok, but very pissed. next day, my uncle( dad's brother who works in my dad's store) held up at gunpoint by three guys(each with guns at his head) and takes $5000 from the store. by the way, anyone from houston, the chase was on tv last tuesday.

Sadly enough, I am not old enough OR lucky enough to just be in the drunk tank, god I wish, no, I was a welcome guest in the cell block, striped clothes and all, if only I had a pic, too bad huh, and NO there was no rear ending of ANY sort going on. But I did meet a kid who could beatbox pretty good.

The Estimate:

Ready....

Aim.......

Fire.........

$1,385.22  :bawling:

Now I need some advise: How many of you have put in an insurance claim for something that was 100% your fault and had the insurance company raise your rates?

I have Geico with a $250 deductable. This estimate is so small, I don't want to put it in as a claim and have my rates go up $50 per month!! I can probably get the work done for $800 - $1100 through "contacts" and buying the panel via my TCCoA discount.

Any suggestions. :2huh:

For something like that, I would just pay for it out of pocket, costs less in the long run.

My parents have been in 2 accidents each that I can remember and rates didn't go up, they just lost their good driver discount for a year or two. So if your getting the discount do the math.

I claimed 1900 dollars worth of work (a little body work, paint both doors, blend quarter panels) and said it was from damage at stores... badda bing, badda boom, my insurance company delt with the paint shop and I only had to drop the car off, and pick it up. Oh and pay the 500 dollar deductible... but My rates stayed the same. Actually they just went down ALOT when i turned 21. Win win! I say go for it.
