I'm having the hardest time trying to remove my inner tie rods from rack and pinion on my 93 Thunderbird SC

How do they come off?

I read about the rivet, but I didn't see it. I have a screw instead of a rivet, so I guess their aftermarket tie rods!? I removed the screw and now I'm trying to thread the inner tie rod off... and its not coming off? its not reverse thread!? or is it?!

The threads are not lefties. Use a big crescent wrench, dont be a pansy and break them loose. The rivet is just aluminum and won't damage anything if you turn the inners off with them in. You could practically crush one of those rivets between your teeth if you tried. Depending upon their position monkeying around with removing them transforms a 15 minute job into a headache. Good luck!

I figured it out! It's turns out the screw that I took out broke inside the tie rod still keeping it locked in! So I drilled it out, and finished the job! :)

Thanks

tbirdtess and coolhandzep for your help
