Hi Everyone, I'm thinking about buying a Blue Oval chip for my 94 4.6, does it plug in the port where you check for codes? Or, do you have to remove computer to install? Also, what does everybody think about Blue Oval chips, and are they worth it? Thanks, Steve.

Installing a chip requires removing the EEC (it plugs directly into the EEC). A XCal2 hand held tuner would plug into your diagnostic port and flash the EEC.

You can't get a new X2 for a Ford since over a year ago so you would need to get an X3 at minimum if you want a handheld.

Lonnie is really good at this stuff and can help you get exactly what you need. All you have to do is call him and he will take care of you.
