x2 on the 02 Mustang GT intake (or I THINK 99 if you are using a seperate IAT, it has the provision for it, if you are using an airbox that doesn't have the hole for the IAT). It was a STRUGGLE to get my stock 97 zip tube on the MAF, it wasn't worth it to me.
This is what I have.It fits perfectly but was not the cheapest piece out there.I just got it because it looks pretty. And I needed a bigger inlet for the LMAF.Which the CAI skewed anyway and caused me to run lean. But Lonnie sent me a retune so all is good now.
If I were you I would find a member here with a 96+ inlet tube. They can be found for the price of shipping.I have one now if you need it.And I also have an inlet from an 02 Explorer 4.6 which accepts a 90mm LMAF and will work on your car as well.
It looks like he used the explorer PI intake and routed the hose to the back for the heater core.
I used the explorer intake on my swap, but I drilled out the port at back of the manifold where it is on the car intakes, and tapped it with the correct NPT threads (yes, the plastic piece). Then I took the outlet port from the crossover and threaded it into the back of the intake. I've been running it like that without issue for about 2500 miles now.
I figured it was a gamble, but if it worked, I wouldn't have to buy a new intake. If it didn't work, I was back to where I started.
Ya I am using the Explorer PI intake on it.I just extended it to the front with a t fitting.Since I had pluged and clamped it in the back and got rid of the fitting. So it looks alittle cleaner under the hood.I don't need my heater anyway.
Hey guys, it has been quite a while but it's good to be back!
I am in need of some guidance regarding a recent engine swap in my 97 bird.
The back story:
It has been quite a while since I have posted, mostly due to the fact that my motor exploded roughly 6 years ago. Since then the car has...
I've been screwing around with this all day. Short of removing the cam, is there any way to get to the lower head bolts on this car? My socket wrench (all 4 that I've tried) is obstructed by the shock tower. I had a hell of a time removing one of the valve cover bolts on the bottom, but...
Hey guys; I've been posting in a few threads talking about the various mods for our cars, and I thought I'd start a thread where we could pull a bunch or the info together, and link to the various Howto threads.
So, in our best free-for-all fashion, lets discuss the various mods, and kick...

This thread was about a 5.4L DOHC installation that another member was planning to develop as a kit for the Thunderbird. Due to the overwhelming bashing by Jerry's crew the kit was canceled.
Why do you ask this happened. The story...
I was talking with my father the other day about engines, he's trying to teach me the basics and how they work. He's doing a great job of explaining these things to me, but now I have a question for you guys based on things that he told me.
Our V8s produce roughly little over 200 horsepower...
