Ford replaced the leaking intake manifold on my 4.6 several years ago. Now the fitting for the heater hose is leaking slightly, the fitting the hose attaches to. My question is is the fitting screwed in like a pipe fitting or is it some kind of press fit. If it can be screwed in I will take it out and put thread sealer on it. I do not want to break the plastic intake. It is not the hose leaking it has been replaced.

That is how i lost my first motor, it is part of the intake manifold, it does not unthread.

It has threads on it, but they are so small. Once as that goes bad, like mine did, its time for a new manifold. When it blows, you'll lose most of your coolant in about 30 seconds, which is bad.

You could probably use a plastic thread tap and a helicoil if you wanted too.

Sealers wont work because it expands when it warms up. Hell, I tried it with JBweld and it just cracked it.
